A bike rider died on the spot in the Mangolpuri area of Outer Delhi, after a speeding Jal Board truck crushed him on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Santosh Kumar (30), a resident of Budh Vihar, Delhi, who used to work as a gas cylinder supplier.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Outer Delhi said that a PCR call was received on November 23, at about 1.28 am, at Mangolpuri police station regarding the crushing of a man near Hanuman Mandir, G-Block, Mangolpuri.
A police team rushed to the spot where one person was found in unconscious condition on Kanjhawala Road, while his bike was lying in an accidental condition near him.
Meanwhile, information was received by one Satender Solanki, a conductor of DTC bus, that one Jal Board truck, who had committed the incident, was caught near Ordinance depot. The truck was seized accordingly, but the driver of the said vehicle fled away.
The injured was shifted to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial hospital where he was declared dead. Accordingly, a case was registered by Mangolpuri police and investigation is being carried out. Efforts are being made to arrest the alleged absconding driver.
